Comprehensive Evaluation & Therapy Services
We provide evidence-based neuropsychological and psychoeducational evaluations, psychotherapy, and support services across the lifespan. Our work is focused on clarity, understanding, and practical recommendations that help individuals and families move forward with confidence.
Our Services
➤ Neuropsychological Assessment
A NEST neuropsychological assessment offers a comprehensive understanding of your child’s unique learning profile. By examining how your child’s brain processes information, we identify strengths and challenges that influence learning, classroom performance, behavior, and social interactions.
Our evaluations consider your child’s functioning across multiple settings, including school, home, and peer environments. We also integrate relevant factors such as sensory processing, health, nutrition, and sleep to ensure a well-rounded, real-world understanding of your child’s needs.
Assessment findings are translated into clear, actionable recommendations. We connect test results directly to classroom and everyday behaviors, allowing us to develop targeted intervention plans that build on strengths, address areas of difficulty, and support meaningful academic and social success.
Areas assessed may include:
Intellectual functioning
Language skills (receptive and expressive)
Visual-spatial and visual-motor abilities
Fine-motor coordination
Academic skills (reading, writing, and mathematics)
Attention and executive functioning
Memory and problem-solving skills
Social-emotional functioning
➤ Psychoeducational Evaluation
A NEST psychoeducational evaluation provides a clear snapshot of your child’s current academic, cognitive, and emotional functioning. It is shorter and more focused than a full neuropsychological evaluation, yet offers valuable insight into learning strengths and areas of difficulty.
This type of evaluation is well suited for identifying specific learning disabilities or differences, recognizing giftedness, and detecting emotional factors that may be impacting your child’s performance at school. While a psychoeducational evaluation helps clarify what challenges your child may be experiencing, it typically does not explore why those challenges exist at the level of brain functioning.
Results are used to guide practical recommendations for academic support and counseling services. For many families, especially when a child has never been evaluated before, a psychoeducational evaluation can be an excellent and appropriate starting point.
Areas commonly assessed include:
Intellectual functioning
Academic achievement in reading, writing, and mathematics
Social-emotional functioning
These areas are primarily assessed through standardized testing conducted in our office. When appropriate, parent and teacher questionnaires are incorporated to provide additional context about your child’s behavior and functioning at home and in school.
➤ Psychotherapy
At NEST, psychotherapy is grounded in a compassionate, collaborative, and practical team approach. We work closely with children and their families to understand presenting concerns, strengthen emotional well-being, and improve overall quality of life.
Our clinicians draw from evidence-based treatment modalities, including psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral therapies, to help children develop effective coping strategies, build resilience, and strengthen self-esteem and confidence. A strong emphasis is placed on social-emotional development, supporting children in understanding their emotions, navigating relationships, and managing challenges across settings.
Our goal is to equip children with skills and insight that promote lasting growth and support success both in and beyond the classroom.
➤ Gifted Testing
Our giftedness evaluations are designed to thoughtfully identify advanced cognitive abilities while also understanding the whole child or adult behind the scores. We use comprehensive, individualized assessment to clarify patterns of strengths, learning style, and areas of vulnerability that may accompany giftedness, such as uneven development, attention differences, or emotional intensity. Findings are translated into clear, practical recommendations to support appropriate educational placement, enrichment, and social-emotional well-being.
➤ School Admissions Testing
Our school admissions testing provides comprehensive assessment to support applications to independent and specialized schools. Evaluations are tailored to each school’s requirements and assess cognitive abilities, academic skills, and relevant aspects of learning and development. Results are clearly summarized and, when appropriate, shared with schools to support informed admissions decisions.
➤ Parent Guidance
At NEST, we believe that informed and supported parents are central to a child’s success. Helping families understand their child’s unique strengths and challenges is a key part of achieving meaningful, lasting progress.
We partner with parents to set realistic expectations, develop effective learning strategies, and support social and emotional development at home and at school. Our approach is collaborative and practical, with a focus on reducing stress and uncertainty around learning and behavioral concerns.
By strengthening parental confidence and clarity, we help create a supportive foundation that promotes success both in and beyond the classroom.
➤ Parent & School Consultations
Supporting a child’s learning and development is a collaborative process. At NEST, we believe that effective outcomes are achieved through ongoing communication and partnership among families, schools, and professionals.
We work closely with teachers, school psychologists, and other educational staff to help ensure that your child’s needs are understood and appropriately supported. Our consultation services promote alignment between home and school goals, clarify accommodations and interventions, and support consistent implementation across settings.
NEST also offers individual parent consultations for families who are unsure whether an evaluation is warranted or who are seeking a second opinion regarding a diagnosis, school recommendations, or treatment plans provided by another professional. These consultations provide clarity, guidance, and informed next steps tailored to your child’s unique situation.
➤ Referrals to Support Services
NEST provides thoughtful referrals to trusted outside professionals when additional services are recommended. These may include educational remediation, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, psychiatric evaluation, or guidance around school placement.
We maintain strong professional relationships with a network of experienced providers and work closely with families to identify referrals that best align with each child’s unique needs. Our goal is to ensure continuity of care and coordinated support beyond our practice.
